What do the Twilight titles and pictures mean?

do the titles mean anything? the pictures? i have a good guess on the picture but idk about the titles. like Breaking Dawn, Midnight Sun, and the recent, already out books. i know what the apple means and i have a good guess on the flower: like "she loves me; she loves me not" but what are your guesses?

What do the Twilight titles and pictures mean?
Twilight.

As the person above me said, Twilight's apple is standing for the forbidden fruit. This is the only cover Stephanie got to pick. The meaning I think of the actual Title is basically twilight. twilight is the end of a new day, and basically this book is the end of Bella's truly human life. This is what i think.

New Moon

As people above me said, the flower was picked because the publishers. I love your idea, it is very practical. The actual title i think means as others said, the dark part of her life, or the darkest part of the moon cycle. I also think that edward is her light, and since there is no light in a new moon this would make sense. Again just a guess.

Eclipse

Again Steph had no control over what they put on her cover. But I think it is the ribbon being torn apart because, she is torn apart by picking between the two loves. One half is her love for Jacob the other Edward. This is again a theory. And for the title. This I think is almost like how her "sun" Jacob covers the moon, Edward. She has to pick between these two and when she does the other moves away, but another thing I think is they are both very strong and you need both of them to make an eclipse (referring to Sun and moon/ Edward Jacob) but you can't have an eclpise for to long eventually one of them has to go away.

All theories but I hope I helped. Major Twi fan!!!

EDIT::

Sorry about repeating forbidden fruit, didn't read it.

anyway i think breaking Dawn is going to be like the sun is coming up and it is a start of a new day, and this will be the start of Bella's new life. This is also the only one that doesn't have anything dark in it so it might not be such darker times

and Midnight Sun

This is another thing that would describe Twilight in another way. It is just another way of saying Twilight, because the book is another way of telling what already happened but in a different way.
Reply:the apple represents the fruit of the evil tree in the Garden of Eden
Reply:I'm pretty sure that the cover of "Twilight" represents temptation.

Eve is tempting Adam with the apple.

Bella is tempting Edward with her blood.

I hope Edward doesn't give in like Adam did....
Reply:Twilight- The apple on the cover of Twilight represents "forbidden fruit." Stephenie used the scripture from Genesis. You know... the bible?

New Moon- The flower is a tulip (just ruffled). The apple cover has a lot of meaning to Stephenie, but she did not pick the New Moon cover.

Eclipse- The cover wasn't choses by Steph, but by publishers.
Reply:I don't like Twilight that much to be honest. But meh.

The titles are all somehow incorporated into the books. For example, in the first book, Twilight, Bella (or Edward, I don't remember anymore) mentions how it's twilight when they are outside after the prom.

Twilight sometimes is viewed as a time where night and day are one, the 'transition time' from light to dark. I guess it could represent Bella wanting to change from a human to a vampire (but I wouldn't look too deeply into it).

I guess Meyer wanted to keep the theme of astrology for the rest of it, but otherwise, I have no idea.
Reply:Hmm, I feel Twiliight is the title of the first book because, it's the beginning of the end of Bella's human life. New Moon, because when there is a new moon, there is no moon, no light to guide us through the darkness. Eclipse, because Bella is struggling to choose one over the other, and the love for one eclipses the love of the other, covers it until it's not visible.

The apple for the Adam and Eve thing. The flower, I never really thought of it, but I like your thought. The ribbon, I have absolutely no clue, at all.
Reply:i guess i think an apple is a fruit

and the other ones are lik times of day
Reply:well, on the first book, i think your right forbidden fruit. On the second book i would say that the title new moon kinda means a change. After edward left bella, she was broken inside and then her and jacob started hanging out and formed a strong bond, but the moon is still the moon so she loves edward more so after she found out the was going to provoke the head vamps to kill him, she saved him. the third book is called eclips. The picture (to me) is a symobol of bellas love. its torn, because she loves edward and jacob. i remember that Jacob said that he could deal with the clouds, but he couldnt fight an eclips. so thats what i think.
Reply:me and my friends were talking about this and a guess we had was that like its kind of a night cycle.
