What is this flower called? (Picture)?

It is a bright orange flower with six petals, a dark purple center with a very interesting design to it, lots of purple pollen stems surrounding the center.. tall, too. They are all over the place where I live in northern NY.. Just can't find them in a flower shop to identify them or plant them myself. Thanks!

DEFINITELY A POPPY. Not a pansy or tulip. Oriental poppy I would say.
Reply:Looks like some type of Poppy
Reply:PAPAVER rhoeas or Field Poppy or Corn Poppy, red 12 inch high red poppy flowers with or without black at the base of the petals. Extremely beautiful self sowing annuals.
