What is the best photo editing software ???? There is somehting I want to do with my pictures?

I am having a hard time figuring out how to do this %26amp; what software to use.. I want to be able to turn pictures into black %26amp; white %26amp; then add color only to certain spots.. Say its a picture of my kids with flowers in the back gorund, I want to be able to have the photo be black %26amp; white, but add color to the flowers


any body have any clue how to do this ????

Adobe Photoshop... you can select just the flowers with the magic wand tool, inverse the selection, and desaturate the color of the rest of the image... if the selection is too harsh try softening it up by starting over and adjusting the "tolerance" ..this is an extremely bare bones tutorial, you can do anything in photoshop and there are a million different ways to do it

Reply:Well if you are good at learning new software, and money isn't any issue, I would suggest Adobe Photoshop or Corel Painter. If you aren't as adept with software I would recommend Adobe Photoshop Elements which is basically the 'watered down' version of Photoshop and is cheaper.
Reply:I use Paint Shop Pro (PSP) for exactly what you want to do.
Reply:You can do almost any creative idea with ADOBE PHOTOSHOP. Artists use it for their projects all the time.
